When an employee's salary is updated during a pay period, the system compares the salary change date and pay period start date; the latest of these is considered to be the "period start". This means that any salary accrued between the actual period start date and the date of salary change is not included in the employee's accrued salary.
If salary is updated on a period start date, the accrued salary will be correct for the period.
